In order to acquire the finest quality broadtail, our in-field experts are constantly working in the mountain villages of Inner Mongolia as well as on the green valleys of Uzbekistan. By selecting ONLY the non-damaged skins with unique patterns, we create an assortment of luxury silk lamb plates that enables us to craft “one of a kind” garments as a result.
Broadtail/Silk lamb is the pelt of prematurely born lamb produced by Karakul or Karakul crossbred sheep. These lambs are prematurely stillborn as a result of exposure to harsh environmental conditions. There is a widespread misconception that the ewes are maltreated or killed. Such practices are not humane or economically profitable anywhere.
